I Collect
01. Jan. 2004
In the autumn of 2003 the museum arranged a nationwide homepage competition for pupils in 4th-7th form. Many enrolled, 20 groups and individuals got started, and six homepages went through the eye of the needle and won prizes.
The completed homepages were judged in as well a "technical" as a "personal" category, and eight proud boys at the age between 12 and 14 were summoned to the museum with their families and friends to receive diplomas and cash prizes from the museum and words of praise from the judge, IT-coordinator and web-developer Christian Ertmann-Christiansen from Kulturnet Danmark.
The museum's educationalist, Pedro Jensen, told the attending parents and friends about the idea behind the competion and the homepage workshop which the museum had established in this connection: To have children produce a homepage about something they collect and are enthusiastic for, and in this way experiment with the possibilities of the internet technology to present a subject of museum relevance. This resulted in many funny and imaginative contributions.
The winners' homepages can be seen on www.teponia.dk.
